Thanksgiving dinner is the ideal opportunity to spend time with loved ones.
Being a self-confessed workaholic, I love festive holidays like Thanksgiving because they give me some much-needed time to not only spend with loved ones but also to reflect on all we have to be thankful for every single day.
I am just SO thankful for my wonderful friends and my beautiful family, and of course, for my amazing team who have helped build my brands into the successful businesses they are today.
I really love hosting reunions at home, so I’ve learned over the years that attempting to nail being the perfect Thanksgiving host can turn what should be a lovely enjoyable day of festive celebration into a stressful fiasco. There are a few little steps we can take that make a big difference, so here are my top tips on how to slay at being the perfect stress-free host.
Thanksgiving Dinner 101: How to slay at being the perfect stress-free host
Start food prep a couple of days before.
The more you get done in advance, the less you will have left on your to-do list on Thanksgiving day which eliminates a lot of last-minute rushing around and stress.
Set your table the night before.
Being organized is vital, especially if you’re expecting a lot of guests.
Pick your recipes in advance.
I find that one main dish, three sides and a couple of dessert options is more than enough food, especially as people are ao often thoughtful enough to bring food with them.
Call in reinforcements.
Ask one guest to come early with appetizers so that you have nibbles to offer your guests when they arrive. Don’t be afraid of ordering some dishes from a fabulous local restaurant or food market. Thanksgiving is your day to enjoy too, and nothing nails being a perfect host more than a stress-free happy you.
